You’re not seeking some distant spiritual awakening – you’re learning to recognize the luminous awareness you’ve always been shining, awakening to the light you are. Recognize your essential nature through Soul element practices that reveal you as consciousness itself appearing as human experience.
Channel 8: Soul – Transcendental Awareness and Recognition
Opening Nectar
“You are not seeking the light – you are learning to recognize the light you already are.”
Hey Bee’utiful.
We’ve journeyed through seven channels together – grounding in presence, flowing with creativity, moving with life force, embracing emotions, breathing with consciousness, expressing with authenticity, and resting in spiritual connection. Now we arrive at the eighth and final channel: Sunlight through the remembrance of your Soul – the recognition of what you have always been, awakening to the light you are.
The sun doesn’t try to shine – it simply IS light. In the same way, you don’t need to try to be spiritual, conscious, or awakened. You are the light of awareness itself, temporarily forgetting your true nature and now remembering.
This final channel isn’t about achieving something new – it’s about recognizing what has always been true. You are not the seeker; you are what has been sought. You are not becoming awakened; you are awakeness itself, playing at being asleep and now gently stirring.
The Soulful Truth
The Foundational Force: Sunlight through the remembrance of your Soul.
The Active Process: Perception of Awareness.
The Realm of Influence: Transcendentally Embodies Wholeness.
When all eight channels flow harmoniously through you, something miraculous happens: You stop identifying with any single aspect of your experience and recognize yourself as the awareness in which all experience arises. You are not the body, emotions, thoughts, or even the spiritual seeker – you are the light of consciousness itself.
Like honey that has been refined through all stages of creation – from flower to nectar to golden sweetness – your consciousness recognizes its own pure, integrated nature.
When You Recognize What You Are, You Know It
You’ve touched this recognition before, even if briefly:
- That moment when you realized you were aware of being aware.
- When you felt so connected to everything that the boundaries between self and world dissolved.
- When love flowed through you so purely that there was no “you” left to love from.
- When you looked in someone’s eyes and saw yourself looking back.
- When you sat in meditation and the meditator disappeared, leaving only awareness aware of itself.
- When you gazed at the stars and knew yourself as the space in which they appeared.
In these moments, you weren’t having an experience – you were recognizing yourself as the awareness in which all experience arises and dissolves. You were remembering that you are the light by which everything is known – awakening to the light you are.
The Honey Process Applied to Recognition
Let’s explore how to work with spiritual seeking, the sense of separation, or forgetting your true nature:
Welcome It
“I accept myself exactly as I am right now”
Notice wherever you are in your spiritual journey without judgment. Maybe you feel far from awakening, maybe you’re tired of seeking, maybe you don’t feel “spiritual enough.” You are not broken and don’t need to be fixed.
“I see that I’m still feeling separate/unconscious/asleep. I welcome this as part of the play of consciousness knowing itself.”
Embrace It
“I hold this moment of forgetting with infinite compassion”
What does it feel like to be aware right now? What does it feel like to be the witness of your own experience? Can you rest in the simple recognition that you are the one who is aware of all this?
Even the experience of feeling unawakened is arising in awareness – your awareness.
Unfold It
“What am I, really?”
Get curious about the nature of awareness itself. Who or what is aware of your thoughts? Who is aware of your emotions? Who is aware of your body? What is this consciousness that is reading these words right now?
You are not what you are aware of – you are the awareness itself. Slowly remembering and awakening to the light you are.
Surrender It
“I let go of the need to become someone different”
Allow the entire spiritual search to soften and dissolve. Let go of needing to become more conscious, more awakened, more enlightened. You are not on a journey to somewhere else – you are recognizing what you have always been.
Emerge From It
“I am the light by which everything is known”
In this recognition, you discover that you were never bound, never asleep, never separate from what you sought. You are the freedom that experiences bondage, the wholeness that plays at being fragmented, the light that illuminates all experience.
Sweet Practice: Embodied Awareness
This week, practice “Embodied Awareness” – recognizing the light you are in ordinary moments:
Sunrise Illumination (10 minutes)
Begin each day with this recognition practice:
- Upon waking, before moving, simply BE – rest in the awareness that is aware of waking up.
- Ask: “What is aware of this moment?” and notice the spacious awareness that answers.
- Feel yourself as the witness of thoughts, sensations, emotions – not identified with any of them.
- Rest in this spaciousness that you are – vast, open, untroubled by whatever appears in it.
- Let this recognition infuse your entire day – you are not a person having awareness; you are awareness appearing as a person.
Awareness in Action
Throughout your day:
- Pause regularly and ask: “Who is aware right now?”
- Notice that you are not your thoughts about the experience but the awareness in which thoughts appear.
- Rest in the recognition that you are the constant presence in all changing experiences.
- Let this awareness inform your actions – responding from wholeness rather than from a sense of lack or need.
- See others as awareness appearing in different forms – the same consciousness looking out through different eyes.
Sunset Integration Practice
Before sleep:
- Review your day from the perspective of awareness – noticing how you were the witness of all experiences.
- Appreciate moments when you remembered your true nature.
- Notice how you are the constant in all the changing experiences of the day.
- Rest in gratitude for the awareness that you are – the light that made all experiences possible.
- Fall asleep knowing you are the consciousness in which even sleep appears.
Real Talk: Integration of All Channels
As you work with recognizing your essential nature, you’ll see how all eight channels support this recognition – nurturing and awakening you to the light you are:
Grounding through Earth
Provides the foundation for embodied awakening – you’re not escaping the human experience but recognizing yourself as consciousness appearing as human.
Creating through Wood
Channels your essence into creative expression – you create not from lack but from the fullness of what you are.
Movement through Fire
Expresses your life force as conscious movement – your body becomes a celebration of awareness in form.
Emotions through Water
Allows feelings to flow through the spaciousness you are – emotions become weather in the sky of consciousness.
Breathing through Air
Connects you to the breath of life itself – each inhale and exhale becomes connection with existence.
Communication through Metal
Lets authentic expression flow through you – your voice becomes the universe speaking to itself.
Meditation through Spirit
Deepens your recognition of what you are – formal practice supports informal recognition.
Recognition through your Soul
Illuminates the wholeness that you are – the light by which all the other channels are known.
Like honey that contains the essence of every flower the bee visited, your consciousness contains and transcends every aspect of experience while remaining essentially pure, sweet, and whole.
Living as What You Are
This recognition changes everything and nothing:
You still experience all human emotions but you know yourself as the awareness in which they arise.
You still have thoughts and preferences but you’re not identified with them as your identity.
You still engage with life fully but from wholeness rather than from seeking.
You still grow and evolve but as expressions of consciousness, not improvements to a flawed self.
You still love and serve but as love itself appearing as action.
The Soul Ripple Effect
When you recognize what you truly are – awakening to the light you are:
Your presence becomes healing because people feel met by consciousness itself.
Your love becomes unconditional because you see yourself in every face.
Your peace becomes unshakeable because you know nothing can touch what you essentially are.
Your joy becomes causeless because you recognize the bliss of existence itself.
Your service becomes effortless because you’re not helping others – you’re loving yourself appearing as others.
Your Recognition Invitation This Week
I invite you to experiment with recognizing yourself as awareness itself – not as a concept to think about, but as the living reality you are.
Try the Embodied Awareness practice, but more importantly, notice throughout your day: What is aware right now? What is this consciousness that is aware of these words, these sensations, these experiences?
You are not what you perceive – you are the perceiver. You are not what you experience – you are the experiencer. You are not what you know – you are the knower.
Rest in this knowing. You are the light you have been seeking.
What’s Next
Congratulations, bee’utiful soul – you’ve journeyed through all 8 Channels of Consciousness! In our upcoming posts, we’ll explore how to integrate these channels into daily life, creating your own Honey Flow practices that support your unique path of awakening.
But for right now, just breathe. Feel the light of awareness that you are, reading these words, knowing this knowing. Notice that you have always been what you were seeking, already awake, already the luminous consciousness in which all experience arises. Embrace the beauty of awakening to the light you are.
Honey Quote to Carry With You: “You are not seeking the light – you are learning to recognize the light you already are. Rest in this knowing, for you are the awareness you have been seeking.”
